Watch the complete setup process from download to first message
Step 1: Grant Permissions
When you first open Helloii, the app will request access to essential device features. Grant these permissions for full functionality:
Camera
Required for video calls and sharing photos directly from your camera.
Microphone
Required for voice calls and sending voice messages.
Storage
Required for saving and sharing media files, documents, and other content.
Note: You can adjust these permissions later in your device settings, but some features may not work without them.
Step 2: Understand Verified and Secure
Helloii gives you one profile with one identity. There are two trust levels for that profile: Verified (the base level everyone starts at) and Secure (an optional upgrade of the same profile that unlocks the highest trust level).
You do not create separate accounts, and there is nothing to switch between. You sign in once as yourself. Upgrading to Secure is like adding a verified badge to the profile you already have.
Verified (base level)
When you create your account, you sign in as Verified using your TripleEnable identity. Your identity is confirmed during signup through TripleEnable's ID verification, so your contacts can trust that you are who you say you are from day one.
What you get:
- A confirmed identity, verified through TripleEnable at signup
- Confirmed identity status visible to contacts
- Ability to add and protect digital assets
- Full messaging and calling features with end-to-end encryption
- A ZTRS score that reflects your verified status
- The ability to send and receive validation requests
Secure (optional upgrade)
Secure is an optional upgrade to your existing Verified profile. It does not create a new account. It raises your same profile to the highest trust level, similar to upgrading to a premium verified badge.
What you get:
- The highest level of trust available on Helloii
- Maximum ZTRS score potential
- Secure unlocks advanced capabilities for your profile
Secure is a subscription upgrade. Full details on pricing and the complete feature set will be available in the app when you choose to upgrade.
Step 3: Create Your Backup Recovery Phrase
This step is critical. During account setup, you will create a backup recovery phrase for account recovery.
You will be guided through the Set Up Recovery screens:
First, confirm your username for recovery:
Set your recovery phrase:
Once complete, your backup recovery phrase is ready:
Important:
- Store your backup recovery phrase securely (password manager, written in a safe place)
- There are NO security questions to recover your account
- If you lose your backup recovery phrase and password, your account cannot be recovered
- This design ensures your privacy remains absolutely protected
Why no account recovery questions?
Traditional recovery methods (security questions, email resets) create vulnerabilities. By eliminating these, Helloii ensures that only you can ever access your account, but this means you must safeguard your backup recovery phrase carefully.
Step 4: Complete Verification
Every account is Verified from the start. Your identity is confirmed during signup through TripleEnable's ID verification:
Scan the front of your government ID:
Scan the back of your government ID:
Complete the selfie capture:
Done! Your account is now Verified.
Upgrading to Secure
You can upgrade your profile to Secure at any time. Secure is not a separate account. It raises your existing profile to the highest trust level, like adding a premium verified badge to who you already are.
- Tap the You tab in the bottom navigation bar
- Open your profile settings
- Choose to upgrade to Secure and follow the prompts
Because you are upgrading the same profile, all your conversations, contacts, and settings stay exactly as they are. Nothing is duplicated and nothing moves. You simply gain the highest trust level and the advanced capabilities that come with it.
Logging In
When returning to Helloii, sign in with your username and password:
You are the same you every time you sign in. There are no separate accounts to pick between and nothing to switch. Whether your profile is Verified or upgraded to Secure, you sign in once as yourself.
